SAS-70 Type II Certification
We are proud to announce certification in SAS70-II. The Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 (SAS70) was developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and is a measure of the auditing procedures an organization puts in place to verify they are performing business functions as defined by the organization. There are two levels of certification: Type I certification verifies that a company has constructed controls that validate business processes; Type II goes a step further by having an outside auditor randomly sample the data collected in compliance with those controls, to verify that a company is doing what they promise to do.
INetU defined eight business objectives, including tasks such as monitoring the backup procedure and monitoring the physical security of the data centers. For each business objective, we constructed auditable controls, so that any auditor could review our records and verify that we are in compliance with the tasks we claim to perform. INetU will continue to add new business objectives to its SAS70-II reports, and must undergo annual external audits to maintain certification.
Among the benefits of INetU becoming SAS70-II certified is simplification working with clients who require Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, as the SAS70 spec specifically meets Section 404 requirements of the 2002 Act.
Certified EU Safe Harbor Compliance
INetU Managed Hosting is officially EU Safe Harbor Certified. Certification is external confirmation that INetU is protecting clients' personal information by monitoring all of its data-collection and retention processes. This move positions INetU to continue dealing with European companies, where Safe Harbor requirements were enacted.
