The Pokèmon Company International, a subsidiary of The Pokèmon Company in Japan, manages the property outside of Asia and is responsible for brand management, licensing, marketing, the Pokèmon Trading Card Game, the animated TV series, home entertainment, and the official Pokèmon website. Launched in Japan in 1996, Pokèmon is one of the most popular children's entertainment properties in the world.
In early 2010, the Pokèmon Company was ready to launch a redesigned Pokemon.com web site using INetU Managed Hosting's private cloud technology. The site, which includes themed games, news, downloads, and online episodes of the popular children's TV show, needed the reliable support only INetU could provide.
"To ensure Pokemon.com became the immersive online destination that we envisioned for our fans, we knew we needed a technology partner like INetU to help us achieve our lofty goals," said J.C. Smith, The Pokèmon Company International's Director of Consumer Marketing. "We would highly recommend INetU to anybody launching a mission-critical web project."
Pokèmon has a number of servers running virtualization, producing a flexible cloud resource for the site. This is combined with a dedicated high availability database cluster and redundant network devices to ensure that the site is running at peak performance.
