INetU Managed Hosting Gains EU Safe Harbor Certification

Allentown, PA – October 20, 2008 – INetU Managed Hosting is officially EU Safe Harbor Certified. Certification is external confirmation that INetU is protecting clients' personal information by monitoring all of its data-collection and retention processes. This move positions INetU to continue dealing with European companies, where Safe Harbor requirements were enacted. The United States and European Union have taken different approaches to privacy, though the ultimate goals are the same. The United States relies on a mix of legislation, regulation, and self-regulation. The European Union, however, enacted requirements that created government data protection agencies, registration of databases with those agencies, and in some instances prior approval before personal data processing may begin.
 

To help comply with the international standard, INetU enlisted TRUSTe's help. TRUSTe, the leading trust mark and recognized authority on internet privacy best-practices, set clear privacy guidelines, closely examined INetU's website and client center practices, and helped write a comprehensive privacy policy (viewable to the public). Since the site's approval, TRUSTe will continue helping INetU consistently adhere to Safe Harbor requirements and, therefore, better protect clients' private identifying information.
