INetU Managed Hosting Earns SAS70 Type II Certification

Allentown, PA – December 16, 2008 – INetU Managed Hosting announced today that the company has earned SAS70 Type II Certification. The widely-recognized Statement Auditing Standards (SAS) 70 proves a service organization has been through an in-depth audit of their control objectives and activities. SAS70 requires a company to construct objectives and controls to verify that those objectives are being met.
 

SAS70 Type II Certification became an operational benchmark for companies due to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, Section 404. SOX requires that an external auditor assess internal control's adequacy in regard to financial reporting. For INetU's clients and prospective clients, SAS70 Type II certification means that an outside source has verified that the company has strong operational controls in place, and that INetU accurately follows the controls.

After a six-month auditing period, INetU received a coveted "unqualified" SAS70 report, indicating that the external auditing firm found no major exceptions between INetU's controls and evidence collected by the auditors. INetU's SAS70 controls entail a wide range of operations, including physical security of the facilities, installation and maintenance of hardware, and following support best-practices.
 

Two types of SAS70 certification exist: Type I and Type II. INetU has obtained the more thorough Type II certification that not only includes verification of the service organization's controls descriptions, but also detailed testing of those controls over an auditing period.
